Westwood Works Athletics Club was affiliated to the Amateur Athletics Association meetings of which were attended within a 50 mile radius of Peterborough. As amateurs, winners were presented with medals, silver cake-stands 0r cutlery rather than money prizes. The big event of the year was the Whit Monday Open Sports Day at Alma Road.
